About Me
Welcome to Rodney Gray Photography; I am your personal photographer.
Who knew photography could be so rewarding? I suppose I knew it deep down, but life had other plans; thus, I traveled the long way back to my camera.
After an honorable stint in the United States Air Force and a 30-year career in law enforcement, I returned to the camera and my lifelong passion of photography.
Behind the camera, my goal is simple...capture "The Shot".
I am versed in all forms of photography: landscape, travel, street, boudoir, and portrait, but sports photography brings out my best.
I hope along this journey I am able to capture the human spirit and raw emotion of you, your athlete, your client or your photographic interests. Capturing "The Shot" on your behalf is my goal.

Are Deposits Refundable?I’m still a little old school in that I work on the honor system, and as such I don’t accept deposits or payment until you’ve seen and approved my work. Whether you buy images directly from my e-commerce site or schedule an appointment for a personal photoshoot, I will never take money until you’ve approved the photos.

What Type Of Photography Services Do You Offer?I learned photography in and outside of the classroom and have experience and ability in all forms of photography including: landscapes, street, family, architecture, boudoir, and portrait. However, I specialize and feel the most artistic when photographing sporting events.

When Will I Get My Finished Images?Editing and proofing images is a time-consuming process that often involves countless midnight sessions before they are ready for review and purchase. My usual turnaround is 24-48 hours after the shoot, but in some circumstances and with bigger projects the time can extend up to one week.

Rodney, Are You Easy To Work With?I sure am! Didn’t you see my profile smile…it’s the real thing. In 2019, I retired from a 30-year career in law enforcement and life has been very kind to me. When I am not traveling abroad or practicing Jiu Jitsu, I am behind my camera. I am easy going, don’t stress, live by the rule of patience, listen to my clients, strive for artistic perfection, and most importantly, I love what I do. If we don’t get along and become friends there must be something wrong with you. And…I have a dry sense of humor.

What Should I Wear For A Portrait Session?Clothing choices can greatly impact the outcome of your portraits. I recommend wearing solid colors or subtle patterns to avoid distraction. It's also advisable to choose outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident. During the pre-session consultation, we can provide more personalized guidance based on the type of portraits you desire.

In Addition To Digital Images Do You Print, Frame, Or Make Photo Books?Yes! Most consumers only want digital images to utilize as they see fit. However, I do offer a service by which you can have your photos printed, placed on glass or metal as well as made into a photo book. Let’s discuss how you want to use the images and I can offer you a quality product with your design specifications.

How Much Are Your Photography Services?Lucky for me, photography is my passion and by no means my financial livelihood. I simply love capturing beautiful and memorable photos. Thus, the price of my images and services are surprisingly reasonable and I assure you, no locally advertised photographer will come close to my prices or ease of service. Honestly speaking, much of my competition is not thrilled with my fair pricing structure and wholesome approach to business.

Do You Backup Or Otherwise Secure Images For Protection?Yes. I literally maintain a quadruple redundancy as my backup process to ensure absolute access and security of all my digital files. Two of my data backups are maintained via separate cloud-based storage services. Thus, you can be assured should you ever need a download replacement or photo edit the file(s) will be available.

Why Should I Hire A Professional Photographer?I am a horrible carpenter, but I am sure I could build a passable fence if I tried really hard; however, the task is best left to a professional. Photography is the same and a smartphone just won’t cut it. I have been taking images and creating high-quality pictures since 1984; experience is king. To get the best you must hire the best.
